How do you use computers?
Part of week 3’s challenge for the Edublog Student Blogging Challenge is to involve our parents in our Edublog. So here we are asking you, our parents, to please let us know how you use computers in your workplace? What purpose do they serve? What tasks do you use them for? We look forward to reading your comments.
Hi Blogging Frogs,
Computers play a very important role in my job as a Speech Language Pathologist in the schools. The computer helps me to keep a schedule, prepare my lessons, find information relating to/for/with my students, communicate with staff/parents, write reports, keep/compute data, and write notes regarding lessons and student progress. I also use applications on an iPad that targets student needs such as articulation drills, vocabulary and grammar work. The computer helps me to stay on track and make progress throughout the day. What does the computer help you to do?
Dear Blogging Frogs,
Computers are used in many work places, including mine. I work as a Physical Therapist and have an I-touch with me all the time when I see patients. The I-touch keeps track of my schedule, time, treatment plan, treatment goals and billing. I write all my treatment notes on there. Not too long ago we used a pen and paper for all this. Using the I-touch saves a lot of time, because all the information I put in the I-touch gets synchronized with the main computer at the end of each day. I can’t imagine life without computers now, can you?

This is Sophia S’ mom. I use computers in my job to document my home physical therapy visits. I input everything we do during a visit and also keep track of how well the patients are progressing and getting better. I started using a computer for my job about 8 months ago. Before that I had to write it all out on paper, yuck! I hope you like using computers as much as I do. They really can make work easier. What is your favorite way to use computers for your school work?
We love to use Active Engage and Active Inspire. Active Engage let’s answer questions via our netbooks.
