The Spanish missions were built in California, called Alta California at the time, between the years 1769 and 1833. There were 21 missions built during this time period. You find treasure in the cave at certain points. I haven’t discovered them all but the ones I know are the ancient diamond, ( i forgot the 2nd thing you get), ancient bones, and the golden sheep.

I’m not lying almost everybody has probably gone through a YouTube stage. Personally I admit that I myself am in that stage where everyday I would rush home to go on my ipad to check Youtube. But that’s not the point. The point is that I never wondered YouTube’s history or creator or any facts but it’s youtubers. So I tried doing research and this is my report about YouTube.
YouTube was created in 2005 by Paypal workers. On November 2006 Google bought Youtube for 1.65 billion dollars. YouTube is now an icon when you press the icons for Google. There are other icons such as drive, gmail, maps, and news. Headquarters is located in San Bruno CA. The founders were named Chad Hurley, Steve Chen ,and Jawed Karim. Chen and Hurley had a hard time sharing videos at a dinner party. Karim wasn’t at the party so he denied the party ever occurred. Idea struck. . . something amazing happened after the dinner party. . . YOUTUBE! Janet Jackson at the 2004 superbowl and Indian Ocean tsunami was Karim’s insparation. He had a difficulty finding clips of both videos. YouTube’s original idea was to make a version of an online dating service called Hot or Not. Youtube’s earliest headquarters was in San Mateo CA above a pizzeria and Japanese restaurant. Youtube.com was made the domain name of YouTube on February 14 2005.
The first ever YouTube Video was titled “Me at the Zoo” of Karim at the San Diego Zoo and was uploaded on April 23 2005 and can be viewed today. Youtube was tested in May before the launch in November. The site grew quickly in fact July of 2006 was announced that Youtube came out with over 65,000 videos a day and a market share of 43 percent and 10,000,000 of video views per day. That was just the beginning because in May of 2010 there were more than 14 billion video views. In october 2006 Google had acquired Youtube for 1.65 billion in Google stock. A typical US person spends 4-5 hours on Youtube according to Wikipedia. Full episodes of shows and movies on Youtube were meant to compete against other shows, movies, and companies.

In Africa, 748 million people are living with either no water or disease filled water. What if you had to walk miles to find clean water? The water in Africa is scarce so we need to build wells near villages.
In Africa dirty water can carry diseases so if we build wells there they will have clean water close to them. The disease filled water has a chance of killing you. The dirty water causes diarrhea and this is the second most killer of kids under 5 years of age. You can get E Coli, Salmonella Typhi, Schistosoma, Cholera Vibrios, and Hepatitis A. Dirty water can cause all of those diseases.
Female children usually never get an education. Access to water is very difficult because it can be located miles and miles from the family’s village, most of the time it’s in very deep holes. The holes can be dark. Sometimes women have to bring string and a pot, they will tie the string to the pot, drop it down in the hole and bring up the water. Then they carry the 5 gallons of water on their head and bring it back to their village to keep themselves alive and their family alive. Woman and female children can’t go to school because all day they’re getting water. Building wells will improve education for girls because they’ll actually be able to go to school.
Building wells in Africa will solve all of these problems and save a lot of peoples lives. We need to build wells but we need your help. There are people and companies that help these causes like the Thirst Project. So you can help by donating or helping this organization.

Would you like to get the measles? When you are sick with measles, you get a really
high fever, a bad rash and you cough a lot. Sound like fun? Well, if you don’t get
your measles vaccination, this is exactly what is going to happen to you. You can
avoid this by getting vaccinated. I think ALL kids should get their vaccinations.
Did you know that outbreaks of measles can occur when kids don’t get vaccinations?
For example, right now there are 51 cases of measles that started in December at
Disneyland. Ten people in San Diego are infected, and 9 of these people didn’t get
vaccinated against measles. Measles can spread across the land as fast as wildfire.
Outbreaks can happen with lots of diseases so you had better get your vaccinations.
Kids who get diseases like measles can get very sick and die. With measles, you can
get a fever of 106 degrees! You also get a very ugly rash that covers your body in red
dots. Would you like to have 1,000 dots on your face? And besides that rash, some
kids can even die from measles. One out of every four people with measles have to
be put in the hospital and some kids die even after being in the hospital.
Vaccines are safe and effective. The measles vaccine is a great way to protect
yourself from getting measles. Shots might hurt when you get them and your arm
hurts for a few days after. But, the shot is safer than getting sick with measles.
People who didn’t get vaccinated and are around someone who has measles almost always get sick
So if vaccines are so safe, why doesn’t everyone get vaccinated? Some people think
that the measles vaccine causes autism. Scientists did tests all over the world and
they did not find a link between the measles vaccine and autism! If you’re a person
who doesn’t believe in giving your child vaccines, I suggest you trust the scientists.
Some people may still believe that vaccinations are not the safest way to go. But,
trust me, they are! What if your only memory of Disneyland was getting sick with
measles? Well, that’s exactly what could happen to you if you don’t get vaccinated.
Minecraft is a great game.
Do you know what Minecraft is? If you don’t know it is a video game that many people around the world play. The main developer of Minecraft is Notch (Markus Persson) who in 2012, handed the job over to Jeb (Jens Bergensten).
Minecraft was first released in 2009. In 2010, Minecraft moved to the Alpha stage. In 2011, Minecraft won many game awards. In 2013 Minecraft got “the Horse Update” that ads horses and lots of other really cool things. In 2014 Minecraft gets The Bountiful Update. It includes many new items and lots of new mobs like endermites, guardians, and rabbits.
Minecraft is a game were all the items are shaped like cubes. There is no rule of physics, because all the blocks besides gravel and sand can float in midair without any support.
There are two main modes in Minecraft. There is Survival mode and Creative mode. They are both really fun but they are both really different.
Creative Mode
In creative mode you don’t have to worry at all about survival. Mobs (monsters) don’t attack you, you can fly(it’s really awesome), and you have every single block that’s possible to build with. In Creative mode you have an unlimited source of blocks.
Survival Mode
In Survival mode you have to survive(of course) monsters, big drops, lava, and drowning. You have to gather resources to Survive and build a house. You have to craft all of your tools and items using a crafting table and smelt ore in a furnace. But that doesn’t stop you from building cool things in survival, but you have to gather all the resources but it’s still lots of fun.
Multiplayer
With Multiplayer you can play with your friends. You can build amazing structures by working together in creative or you can survive together in Survival and battle of monsters. Either way Multiplayer is really fun.
Redstone
Redstone kind of like electricity, but you have to mine it, deep down in the ground. With redstone you can make fancy lighting, computers, and many more! With redstone, it’s like programming, but inside the game!

If you were a Yurok Indian and if your had to hunt all day for a meal how would you feel? Personally I wouldn’t like that at all. The Yurok Indians ate mostly salmon and acorns. They hunted, fished, and gathered their food in lakes, rivers, the Pacific Ocean and in the forests and lands all around them.
The Yurok Indian’s main diet was acorns and used a mortar and grounded them. They also ate salmon a lot they dried the fish and ate it like that. Sea lions seals sturgeon and aquatic animals.
Acorns were the Yurok’s main food source.
Yes like if some berries were in season or acorns then the children would pick them.And if the salmon were big and fat then they would kill them.
The whole family did.The men of the family were fishermen and would fish almost all day. The children would pick berries and acorns for the den.While everyone was collecting foods or berries and acorns the women would make the food.
They would dried the seaweed and made black cakes. They put acorns in a mortar and ground them to acorn mush. They used sun and dried the salmon.
When a dead whale washed up along shore and got the meat of the whale and prized that meat. They used snares and harpoons for fish hunting. They put berries in baskets for later use.Now you know what the Yurok Indians ate and hunted. Would you like to eat snakes and rodents every day for lunch? Probably not. Well that’s what the Gabrielino ate every day. And if you were a man, you would be out hunting them too. But then you wouldn’t be eating them. Weird right? But if you were a Gabrielino man or woman, that’s how you would eat every day.
The Gabrielino ate a variety of different foods, including large wild game, small animals, fish, and plants. The animals that they ate lived in the sea, on the land, in the forests, and high in the sky. Most of the vegetation that the Gabrielino ate were berries. Some of the berries that they ate were manzanita berries, western black nightshade berries, sage berries, grapes, elderberries, and gooseberries. A little of the vegetation that wasn’t berries that they ate were chia, acorns, cattails, and yucca, the most important plant of all southwest indians.Some of the sea animals that they ate were tuna fish, swordfish, shark, shellfish, sea lions, seals, sea otters, and elephant seals. Some underwater animals that were found along the shore were rock scallops, mussels, limpets, and sea urchins. And some of the land animals that lived in the area of the forest that they ate were bunnies, snakes, deer, and rodents.
The Gabrielino hunted with many weapons and traps. Some of the traps that they used were nets and Gabrielino men sometimes put poison on the ground so the animal will step on it and get poisoned so it will be easier to kill it. They also used basket traps and dug holes so the animals will fall in them and won’t be able to get out before the Gabrielino men speared them. You may have already seen that the Gabrielino men used many spears and throwing sticks too. They threw them at the animal when they were out hunting to kill it, but there were also other weapons. They sometimes used bows, arrows and clubs instead of spears
The Gabrielino had many different strategies for cooking food. One of their many strategies was roasting. They roasted grasshoppers on a stick the way we roast our marshmallows around a campfire. They also roasted fish on a fire after they caught them to eat them cooked, not to eat them raw. They also roasted meat, though they steamed it afterward too. Surprisingly, they cooked cactus fruit too. It’s surprising because you don’t usually cook fruit. And finally, they also cooked the acorns into acorn soup. A few more strategies they used for food were to smash, wash, and grind things.Like before they cooked acorns, they smashed them and washed them for 24 hours. The gabrielino also crushed animals to put in their soups. Small animals, sometimes including insects were put in.
So, now you know that the Gabrielino ate different foods than we normally do, like otters and snakes. You know they got their food by mostly hunting, gathering, and fishing. You know that they used spears, clubs, and many other weapons to get food too. And you also know that they cooked their food differently than we do. So next time you eat stake, be thankful you didn’t have to kill the cow, skin it, and cook it first!
Claude Monet is very famous for his style of art. He had a very sketchy type of style that people didn’t really like at first but later loved.
Claude was born in 1840, in Paris, France. Later in 1845, he and his family moved to Le Havre. Claude didn’t enjoy school, but he loved sketching it. When Claude Monet was a man he met Eugene Boudin. Eugene was very different compared to other painters at the time. He painted out side. He invited Claude to paint with him and he had decided that he wanted to become a painter.
This is one of Monet’s very famous water lilies. He really concentrated on the light and the way the light appeared in the picture.
Claude didn’t just enjoy painting he also enjoyed his wife in the garden, his son playing on the terrace, and train stations. One time he stopped the trains just so he could paint them.
A few years later. Claude found a village called Giverny. He bought a house there and made a pond with his favorite plant, the water lily. He then became very devoted to painting water lilies.
Monet died in 1926 at the age of 86. He died a well loved artist and many people still remember him and his artwork today.
What is bravery? Bravery is when you do something courageous that most people wouldn’t want to do and it might embarrass you or make people mad at you.
Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play for the Dodgers. He knew people wouldn’t like it but he did it because the Dodgers needed him. I think Jackie Robinson was the bravest because even though his team was mean to him and he knew people wouldn’t like it, he still did it. He also kept his anger in and was a good player.

Do you think Monday should be a weekend? Many kids and adults think so because kids could have more time to play or even do there homework and sleep more. Some kids that are too busy on the weekends going to karate, class or music class, etc, and they don’t have time for doing any fun or learning but it could be fixed by making Monday a weekend. We all love our favorite sport players, but what makes them so good? Sometimes it’s hard work and good practice, and also the very strong players might use steroids.
Some people inject steroids to build bigger muscles.
What are steroids you may ask? It’s a drug that makes you stronger but also makes you meaner, and it’s bad for your heart. “Ya I know who wants to be mean to others and to your heart?” They don’t but they want to be stronger.
Some ways it’s good for your body. (if a doctor gives you a prescription for them) But some sports players abuse them and bribe doctors to give them some. def Bribe: pay or give a lot of something to people. The abused one is called anabolic steroids which will make you bulk up. The one prescribed is called corticosteroids.
In the MLB, NHL, NFL, and lots of other leagues for sports you can’t use steroids. But how do players still use them? Well they might take them before each game and stop before they get tested for steroid uses in their blood.
How can tell if they are using steroids? They look really creepy like a strong man but with huge muscles. Like this.
The dangers of taking steroids are insomnia, manic behavior, mood swings, irritability, lack of good judgement, Increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
This is why people should not take steroids.

Hi, this post is about dogs. Dogs can go almost anywhere as long as they’re owners are with them. Dogs are super smellers. They can smell better than humans and yes, cats. Sometimes they’re hired to sniff out drugs. No lie! Dogs can’t hear as much as cats but they can hear more than people. Did you know the first dogs were wild wolfs?
Early dogs were wild wolves. Wolves came near villages and ate stuff from the trash and became tamer. Eventually, they became the first dogs. But some wolves didn’t become dogs. Which is why there is still wolves today and they aren’t something from long ago.
Have you ever seen a dog at the airport? Or a police dog? They’re on the sniff for drugs. Dogs are really good at smelling so they’re hired to sniff out drugs. Sometimes at airports, there’s a dog who is going to sniff your suitcase looking for drugs. I’m pretty sure they don’t want anybody to get drugs in a different country.
Dogs can go anywhere as long as a owner or a trusted person is with them. Dogs like company and whine when there’s no one around. Sometimes when a person feeds them they love that person and will follow them around. Dogs need love, too!
Dogs are a really good pet to have. If your parents let you have a dog, I suggest getting a shelter dog. Just make sure to never leave your dog alone. DOGS ARE CUTE!
Did you know that the average a family spends on school uniforms each year is $249?That’s one reason why school uniforms should be banned. School uniforms are expensive, they don’t let kids express themselves with their clothing, and uniforms are completely useless for education.
School uniforms cost a lot of money. Parents have to pay the essential bills, and the expensive school uniforms are a waste of money that could be used for things that you actually need like food and regular inexpensive clothing. Banning school uniforms would save parents money that could be used for necessary things.
School uniforms prevent kids from expressing themselves throughout their clothing.Kids can really show and express who they are when they choose how to dress. When kids express themselves, they are being who they are.School uniforms prevent most kids from being themselves.
School uniforms are useless. Schools should focus more on how there students are doing not how they are dressed. If it doesn’t improve their grades then why have them? School uniforms might distract the students because they are to itchy or uncomfortable so they might not get their work done.
School uniforms save time because kids don’t have to waste a few minutes or more to decide what to wear for the day. Then kids might complain about having to wear the uniforms instead of their regular clothing. Kids might waste time complaining and get to school late because they wasted time complaining. School uniforms are expensive, prevent children from expressing themselves throughout their clothing, and are completely useless for educational purposes.Therefore school uniforms should be banned.
Somewhere, sometime today an animal is or will be suffering in a shelter. You can help, you can make a difference. All animal hospitals should have a no kill policy because it hurts animals,breaks human hearts and human and pet friendships.
What if your pets still have a chance.
What if you had a ten year old cat that had a bad disease and you just didn’t know it. You took it to the animal shelter to put it down to die. If that animal shelter had a no kill policy then the people working there would have cured the disease and you could bring your beloved pet home safe and sound.
100 cats and dogs die from shelters each 1000 people that die regularly. Someone dies every 15 seconds. That means 1 animal dies every 150 seconds. If those shelters had a no kill policy that would change the fact that 100 cats and dogs are being killed from shelters. The shelters could find a disease or a new type of illness and make a pill. That pill could save another animals life along with the other animals diagnosed with that disease. You could make more memories with your pet for a couple more years.
Your pet needs you to survive and not only that but you are like your pets best friend.
Probably more than that. You are like your pets mom or dad. Your pet wants to have a tight bond with you. You should take care of your pet like your parents took or take care of you. Your pet needs a person to take care of them and a good friend. I think pet hospitals are a better place to put struggling animals down.
All animal shelters should have a no kill policy. We need to give animals back the world they lost, their hope and their faith for a better life. They need a world where they don’t have to worry about being killed by shelters.You
can travel the extra few miles to the pet hospital to save an animals life so make your nearest pet shelter have a no kill policy.

As many as 60,000 trees are cut down each year that’s a waste of natural resources .Trees also can help us breathe. Trees are also helpful if there are flash floods.
If we the trees get cut down the animals won’t be able to breath neither will we because the tree provide oxygen for us .If we can’t breathe or the animals, are also helpful for the environment like eating crops and don’t use natural resources.
Trees are also used for natural resources and if we cut down to many we won’t have any natural resources left. We wont have paper pencils and even fruits come from some of the trees in the forest.
Did you know 60,000 trees are cut down each year and if all those trees are cut down the animals won’t have a habitat and will have to survive without a home in the wild .
We should stop cutting down trees because we could use other trees like bamboo, hemp, kenaf,and sugarcane are also good to use for natural recourses
