Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States. The signing of the residence act on July 16,1790 approved the creation of the state.  Washington D.C. is bordered by Maryland and Virgina and of course is in the United States. There are many cool places to visit in Washington D.C. for a few examples Lincoln Memorial, The White House (where the president lives) and Washington Monument.

Washington D.C. covers 68 square miles. There is a lot of people who live in Washington but to be exact…646,449 people. Washington D.C. is named after George Washington. The climate of Washington D.C. is the best in Spring, Summer and Fall. In winter it usually rains or snows. The people who live in Washington D.C. is are called Washingtonians. The mayor of  Washington D.C. is named Vincent C. Gray. There are 7 official symbols here are a couple of the symbols. The bird symbol is Wood Thrush, The motto is ‘Justitia Omnibus’, which is Latin for “Justice For All” and the flower is the American Beauty Rose.
